What started as an idea for a small coffee shop that would meaningfully employ our son Sam, who’s on the autism spectrum, has grown into a café that now employs a team of individuals working towards a simple, but uncompromising goal: serving our guests quality food and drink in a welcoming, friendly environment.
By creating a culture of mutual respect and understanding, we stay true to our mission of fostering every individual employee’s unique and personal journey, while offering meaningful employment to adults on the autism spectrum working alongside the rest of our dedicated team.

Meet Our Team
Lisa Auld, Co-Owner & Chief of Morale
Lisa spent her younger years canning tomatoes, picking steamed crabs, and reading math books (for fun!) at the dinner table. With a background in accounting and a love of food, Lisa has managed restaurants, cafés, and even a food truck for the last decade. She possesses a genuine passion for excellent service and a memorable experience for every guest who walks through the cafe doors. When Lisa is not at the café, she is spending time with her family, eating stinky cheese, and speaking in food puns.
Brian Javier, Menu and BOH Consultant/Trainer
Brian comes from all walks of life - from pre-med to butcher to chef to food scientist. His upbringing in the culinary world started with being his mom’s helper, transferred to his college years, and it was at Woodberry Kitchen where he really honed in on his skills. On his days off, you can find him eating his way through restaurants and sending hilarious memes to friends.
Lisa Doyle, Pastry Chef
Lisa D. has been baking since she was a little girl. Once she realized that brownies, or any sweet treat, didn’t magically just come out of a box, her passion to bake began to grow. Her ultimate dream is to own her own bakery as she also has an education in business. When she is not at the café, she enjoys traveling and eating her way through each adventure with her husband.
Sean Creedon, Lead Barista
Sean, a South Jersey Native, and Loyola graduate is new to the coffee scene but his passion for the craft and culture of the coffee world shines through his interaction with every guest. When Sean is not at the café, he is most likely making OR listening to punk music, reading, and playing board games with friends.
Julian Jones, Line Cook
Julian, a Baltimore native graduated from Morgan State University in 2012. He developed a passion for cooking at a young age from watching his grandfather manage restaurants. In his spare time, Julian enjoys listening music, trying new restaurants, and spending time with his family.
Abby loves learning about every station in the cafe—and her favorite is expo. In her free time, she loves to draw and eat ice cream!
Sam loves working at the cafe because he gets to practice teamwork. When he’s not here, you can find him practicing gymnastics or eating Mac & Cheese!
